I got into my first car accident today. Ivan and I were driving towards Chicago to day on the Stevenson highway. It was rainy, foggy, and the traffic was bumper to bumper. We were slowly making our way to the city, when the pick-up truck in front of me suddenly stopped. I breaked once I saw his red break lights go on, but the slick, wet, road cuased my rear breaks to skid...and before I knew it, I heard the front of my car grinding metal with the pick-up's rear. I was so in shock, that I didn't even realize that a Honda Civic had rear-ended me in the back. All three cars pulled over to the side. I got out..and...I can't even explain how sick I felt at that moment. My car's whole grill was dented in, my front bumpers were ripped off, and my license plate was hanging on for dear life. The pick-up and Honda were barely scratched. Ivan and I are both ok, and all in once piece. Thank God. A police officer drove up minutes after the crash and helped us record the accident. Thankfully, Ivan took pictures of the damage and helped calm me down. If it wasn't for him, I'm not sure if I would have been able to stop crying. I think everything is going to be ok...just...BMW fixing is a lot of money. I learned my lesson, even though the accident was no ones fault.
