i spent my whole morning by myself at the Arb today. i'd never been there before and i figured i had the time so...why not? the walk there felt like hours, but after i finally arrived at the park's ghetto entrance (a bunch of weeds) it was definitely worth it. i took the main trail, not knowing where i was heading or really doing. the arb is pretty big and hilly with lots of trees, wild grass, and flowers...beautiful, really. i couldn't help thinking how un-Ann Arbor like it was, and because of that and the peacefulness the place provided was probably what i liked the best about it.

though i never really saw myself as a nature person one of my friends told me that "a lot of city kids tend to be nature-inclined.. mostly because they've never had it." (not that i'm a true city kid...it got me thinking nonetheless) i found the arb as a good place to reflect and pray...i'll be taking many trips back.
