last friday was the opening day of "The House of Flying Daggers," also known as "Shi Mian Mai Fu." 

 

a group of my friends and i left right after class to go see it, and...the result? bam! awesome movie that i highly recommend! though the plot, in my opinion, is weaker than "Hero," "Flying Dagger"'s cinematography is breathtakenly beautiful and its fight scenes are crazy exciting! the movie stars:

zhang ziyii was never a fan of her, but her opening performance in the movie is fantastic!takeshi kaneshiro*sigh*  all of us girls love him!  i've noticed that there seems to be a theme of good looking men who are good with a bow and arrows in recent movies.  takeshi follows well after legolas and the last samurai's son. =D andy lauhmm, though he's older, the man's still handsome as hell.   anyway, time to get on with my life! i'll try to pick up a bootlegged copy or two of the film to bring to the states. seriously, this is gonna be the next big movie passed along in asian american circles, if not already!
