today (or more accurately, yesterday), i attended my first roof top dinner party in chelsea. man, it was fantastic - my cousin morgan invited me to check out his current work space and meet his overly artsy/cultured friends.

up on the roof.
it was there that i realized that my craigslist "whoring" had turned into some sort of sick addiction. even though i've pretty much subleased a place to live, i still enjoy or feel the need to obesessively check c-listings. in addition, i continue to e-mail people whose sublets i find appealing and make apartment viewing appointments with them. what's worse is that i actually go to these appointments and pretend that i am a potential subletter looking for a place to live. yes. it's a great way to discover new neighborhoods, meet new people, and learn about new york real estate. morgan and i proceded to go to D.U.M.B.O., Brooklyn to check out a loft owned by an independent artist named kenneth. kenneth makes crazy wooden fixtures, tables, etc. and DJ's on the side. D.U.M.B.O. is a wonderful industrialized place - i love it! there's a riverside park around there with breath-taking brooklyn bridge and manhattan views.
rewinding back to friday night, i've become a huge fan of st. mark's place and its' japanese restaurants. i've eaten at yakitori taisho twice this week already.

Joana and I in front of a demonic racoon.

mmm...yakitori.
